WHO: Denodo, a leader in data virtualization software, today announced that its customer CIT Group (NYSE: CIT) will present a comprehensive discussion at the Data Summit Conference on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. B.J. Fesq, Chief Data Officer at CIT Group, will join Denodo’s CMO Ravi Shankar in a session titled “Modernizing Data Architectures with Data Virtualization to Improve Business Agility.”

WHAT: In the midst of the ongoing data tsunami, organizations are attempting to modernize their data architectures to enable new business processes, and integrate legacy and newer systems to provide relevant, related information to business in real-time. However, many struggle to determine which technology platform can help to accelerate the time-to-results. As a result, organizations are turning to data virtualization to establish a clear path to business agility.

In this presentation, B.J. Fesq will discuss how CIT Group modernized their data architecture in response to heightened data management associated with being a Systemically Important Financial Institution (SIFI). He will also outline how he and his team created a data services layer with data virtualization at its core to integrate new data sources, minimize data replication, and inject business agility within their regulatory compliance process. In addition, Mr. Fesq will discuss how CIT instituted smart data governance to enforce policies, standards, and procedures, and ensure that the data is properly owned, managed, and certified.

Attendees with learn how to create a modern data architecture with data virtualization as its foundation; build a data services layer with a common provision point using RESTful interfaces while enabling metadata and lineage; setup a 7-step process to create a controlled data environment using data virtualization as a pragmatic integration strategy to enable faster time-to-market and incremental information delivery; and establish a data governance regime to ensure the success of your data virtualization effort.

In addition, Denodo will be showcasing Denodo Platform 6.0, the latest version of the company’s award-winning data virtualization platform. Version 6.0 is designed to accelerate a “fast data” strategy by delivering breakthrough performance in big data, logical data warehouse, and operational scenarios. The Denodo Platform, already known for its broadest connectivity to structured, unstructured, and non-traditional data sources and universal applicability to both operational and analytical use cases, delivers breakthrough performance in big data, logical data warehouse, and operational scenarios, accelerates solution adoption with data virtualization in the cloud, and expedites use of data by business users with self-service data discovery and search. Companies benefit from rapid decision-making with the best real-time performance, shortest time to data with on-demand product availability, and improved business-user productivity with unconstrained access to data.

WHY: Data virtualization is synonymous with information agility - it delivers a simplified, unified, and integrated view of trusted business data in real-time or near real-time as needed by the consuming applications, processes, analytics, or business users. Data virtualization integrates data from disparate sources, locations and formats, without replicating the data, to create a single "virtual" data layer that delivers unified data to support multiple applications and users. The result is faster access to all data, less replication and cost, and more agility to change.

WHEN: Data Summit 2016 Conference in New York opens on May 9th, 2016. B.J. Fesq will deliver his case study on the “Virtualization Day” of the event; Wednesday, May 11th at 11:45 am.
