When you use Denodo websites operated under the denodo.com, denododatafest.com, and datamanagementblog.com domain names (collectively the “Sites”), in connection with our events, sales, and marketing activities, we use standard automated data collection tools such as cookies, web beacons, and other identifiers for the purposes described below. Depending on your jurisdiction, we ask for your prior consent for different types of cookies or allow you to opt-out.

What are cookies and how does Denodo use them?

Cookies are small text, image, or data files or tag code snippets placed on your device by websites that you visit or access. Web beacons (also known as pixel tags or clear GIFs) are small graphic images that typically work in conjunction with Cookies to track the use of an online service. Cookies and web beacons are widely used to make websites work and function with greater efficiency, and to provide customization and improve a website’s performance.

Denodo uses both first-party cookies (which we set) and third-party cookies (which are set by third parties). Cookies may be persistent, meaning they are saved on your computer and are not deleted automatically when a browsing session ends, or they may be temporary, such as session cookies, which are deleted once the browsing session has ended. We use both persistent and temporary cookies.

The table below explains the four main categories of cookies that Denodo uses. For more information about the different cookies assigned to each category, please see the cookie declaration tab within the Cookie Settings at the bottom of the Sites.

Tipos de Cookies
Cookie Type Purpose
Strictly Necessary These cookies are essential for you to browse the Sites and use their features, such as accessing secure areas of the sites. For example, when you sign into your Denodo account we remember the information in your account. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site may not work or they may work less efficiently.
Preferences (Functional) Preference cookies enable a web page to remember information to customize how the website looks or behaves for each user. They also allow the user to use different options that exist within the website. For example, Denodo uses functional cookies to enable us to remember your username, language preference, or the region you are in and provide enhanced, more personal features.
Analytical (Statistical) These cookies collect information about how you use a website, such as which pages you visited and which links you clicked on. None of this information is used to identify you. It is all aggregated and therefore anonymized. The sole purpose of these cookies is to improve website functions. For example, Denodo uses third party analytical cookies to understand how long the Sites take to load, to improve any functionality that may be causing the delay. We also get insight into what information visitors look at most, to help us design our website so that visitors can more easily find what they are looking for.
Marketing (Advertising) These cookies track your online activity to help Denodo and its advertising partners deliver more relevant advertising or to limit how many times you see an ad. These persistent third-party cookies play a vital role in letting us know how well our online advertising works and where we should place our online advertisements. These cookies let us know if one of our advertisements on a third-party website has sent a visitor to one of the Sites and helps us reach people who are interested in Denodo products and services. So, if you visit one of the Sites you may see our advertisements on other third-party websites. This is known as re-marketing or behavioral advertising and is used to make our advertising more relevant to your interests.
Social Media Cookies These cookies are used when you share information using a social media sharing button or “like” button on our Sites, or you link your account or engage with our content on or through a social media site. The social network will record that you have done this. This information may be linked to marketing (advertising) activities.
Other cookies The cookies in this category have not yet been categorized and the purpose may be unknown at this time.

What other identifiers does Denodo use and what do they do?

Certain of our Sites use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. Google Analytics makes use of cookies to help Denodo analyze how users use our Sites. The information generated by the cookies about your use of our Sites (including your IP address) and collected through Google Analytics (“Google Analytics Data”) may be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use the Google Analytics Data on behalf of Denodo for the purpose of evaluating your use of our Sites, compiling reports for Denodo on our Sites and providing other services to Denodo relating to the Sites activity and Internet usage. Google may also use Google Analytics Data collected to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network. You can opt-out of Google’s collection and use of the Google Analytics Data by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Note that this opt-out is specific to Google’s activities and does not affect the activities of other ad networks or analytics providers that we may use.

We also partner with Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising to capture how you use and interact with our website through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay to improve and market our products/services. Website usage data is captured using first- and third-party cookies and other tracking technologies to determine the popularity of products/services and online activity. Additionally, we use this information for site optimization, fraud/security purposes, and advertising. For more information about how Microsoft collects and uses your data, visit the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
